The major development of Lake Macquarie Private Hospital will provide a wide range of service and facility enhancements, some of which include an additional:

• 3 new Operating Theatres, increasing the hospital’s capacity to 14 theatres
• 6 emergency department bays
• 1 Cardiac Catheter Lab
• 10 consulting suites
• 8 day oncology chairs
• 3 inpatient operating theatres with 1 being a hybrid theatre

The redevelopment will also include compliance upgrades to meet current National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and Australiasian Health Facility Guidelines, including:

• A new central sterilising unit
• The relocation of the medical imaging onsite, which is currently housed in the medical centre opposite the hospital
• A power supply upgrade and emergency generator upgrade
