Emergency Department

We treat patients of all ages for a broad range of conditions from minor sprains and cuts to serious medical emergencies. At our emergency department you’ll receive all the care you need, in the one place, at the same time.

Patients can go directly to our emergency department, be referred by their GP or call 000 and ask to be taken to Lake Macquarie Emergency Department for immediate assistance. You do not need an appointment to present to the Emergency Department.

Fees and payment

As a private Emergency Department, we are classed as an outpatient clinic and as such there are fees payable for service. The below fee is inclusive of all tests, treatment and imaging you may need, excluding MRIs.

• A $400 out-of-pocket fee applies and is non claimable through Medicare or private health insurance
• Medical professional attendance fees (doctor fee). This fee is determined upon your treating doctor. This fee is covered under Medicare and refunded to your nominated bank account by Medicare, usually within 24 hours.
• There is nil charge for DVA Patients
• MRI’s available and will be billed separately by our service provider
